I had stupidly assumed that the launch date announced in the Australian media of Friday November 2nd was a worldwide launch date. So when I rocked up to the 3 Store in George Street, Sydney at 9.00am expecting to walk away with a new Skype phone, I was bitterly disappointed.
I got to add my name and mobile number to a piece of paper so it wasn't a totally wasted journey ;-)
When I mentioned that I wanted the Black one, I was told they're not going to be available in Australia! Please tell me this is Salesman rubbish. You wouldn't be putting up pictures of the black phone if you wasn't going to sell it in this country, right?
Finally, the question that everyone wants answered .... WHEN DO WE GET IT??
Oh, and a great idea to have a blog for this event. Just took me some time to find it. Perhaps a link on the three.com.au site would be good.

Sorry for the wasted journey, and for the misinformation. Sometimes our sales people get their wires crossed, but please rest assured that we definitely will have black 3 Skype Phones for sale (though there will only be a limited number so you must be quick! ;)
Unfortunately we are all sworn to secrecy on when the phone will actually be released, but if you preregister online then you will be the first to know (via SMS or email), as well as getting a chance to win one of 10 phones. Hope that helps! ;)
I can't wait to get my hands on this!
I was told the release date will be in December, before Christmas. In the meanwhile I'm convincing all my friends to get Skype. :)

Hehe we are all very excited here about the Skype phone, and I really wish I could tell you when its released but I would probably die a slow painful death if I did so ;P At the risk of sounding like a broken record, remember to preregister so we can contact you when they are available to purchase ;)
If we preregister on the site, how much advance warning do we get before the official announcement??
Got to make sure we get the colour we want before they sell out!! ;-)
